Andrea invites the confidence needed to take risks. Having spent more than two decades in advertising, I can say that Andrea’s creative leadership style is both unique and a real breath of fresh air. She listens first and speaks second. She nurtures ideas and people. I’ve seen firsthand how both grow in the light of her leadership. She sees possibilities where others might just see problems. Andrea was appointed to lead my agency creative team mid-way through development of a major campaign. Her job was a “rescue mission.” The creative idea was on life support, and we were close to pulling the plug. Andrea not only revived the idea but grew it into something stronger and better than before. Today, the work is in market, driving double-digit lifts in brand consideration.  Andrea continued to transform the work and our relationship, building more trust and more powerful ideas at every moment. One of the first things I remember Andrea saying to me was, “I think we can find an elegant solution.” And now having had the privilege of working with her, it really is the perfect summation of how she operates. I had the pleasure of having Andrea on my team for nearly 4 years. When I first hired Andrea, I was excited by her potential, but I underestimated how much of an impact she’d have on our team and on me personally. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity of partnering with Andrea Messer for a Spotify Sprite doc series campaign called, The Break. This was a three-part series that spawned physical productions from Atlanta, Philadelphia and LA that were all executed in under a month. It was a grueling schedule, but with Andrea’s brand leadership and keen ability to help narrate the stories on set made her an invaluable asset. She was one of the main creative stakeholders on this series and her hands-on approach allowed for a truly seamless collaboration between the multiple parties involved with this campaign. Not only is Andrea an extraordinarily skilled Creative Director, but she is an incredible creative ally. Having worked with Andrea on a grueling production that spanned three cities over a week and an equally demanding post-production schedule, I can say she is the best kind of creative director with whom to collaborate, especially when the job is tough. I had the pleasure of working with Andrea on a large-scale video/campaign for a major beverage brand. There were many moving parts: multiple talent to identify, vet and negotiate as well as the brand identity and client stakeholders to manage. Andrea did it with grace and flair. I had total confidence that we were going to finish this project together and make the client happy. And they were! 

Andrea and I worked together on UM's Coca-Cola account. Andrea is extremely driven, always providing insight-driven creative ideas. She is proactive and works to get ahead of any brief. She is also extremely diplomatic, able to take inputs and feedback from various parties to deliver the strongest ideas through collaboration. She also develops strong relationships that help her identify unique opportunities that embed brands in culture, and works to ensure they are executed with authenticity.

It was an honor to work with Andrea on the Sprite, Fanta, and Diet Coke brands at UM Studios for 2 years. She fearlessly led a number of incredible creative programs for the brands that seamlessly tied in CCNA brand messaging while leveraging the strongest capabilities media partners had to offer. While the success is most evident in the captivating content that was created, the other big win was the collaborative effort behind the scenes. Working with Andrea consisted of clear lines of communication, constant brainstorming on how to bring the projects to the next level, and overall providing the Coca-Cola clients with only the best quality of work. There are people who make you a better creative. Then there is the creative who makes you a better person. If you’re lucky, both arrive at your doorstep in the same package. The precious few projects I’ve worked on under Andrea’s guidance (it will never be enough) have given me an opportunity to witness a professional at the top of her game. Nobody enters a kick-off meeting more prepared to seed the discussion and champion the work. And few have her gift for leaving individual members feeling like their leader personally campaigned on their behalf. Her enthusiasm is contagious, ego non-existent, insights and clutch assists a godsend, and loyalty—to the work as well as the people behind it—unwavering. One look at Andrea’s portfolio speaks volumes about her accomplishments. One minute in her presence tells you why I consider this passionate professional and patient mentor a dear and close friend.

Working in Post-Production for over a decade, I've found it rare to have the kind of hands-on collaboration with agency creative that actually feels immediately productive, but working with Andrea has always been an exception. No small amount of thought goes into the projects she's brought to my team, and there's not a creative decision she makes just for the sake of it. Boasting a keen eye for detail, and design chops to boot, Andrea's combination of brand savvy, hands-on knowledge and luminous positivity is unmatched, as far as I'm concerned. Andrea and I worked together at UM for several years and our paths crossed again while she completed freelance work between jobs for the agency. As awards manager at UM, I’ve project managed the development of dozens of case studies over the past four years and had the pleasure of working with many ACDs and CDs. Andrea has hands down been one of my favorite coworkers to team up with. She consistently sets the tone with her positive attitude, brings terrific energy and enthusiasm to team meetings, and collaborates exceptionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
